Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the ArticleVoice platform, a product of Moose Media ("we," "us," or "our"), and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using ArticleVoice, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Content Requirements
1.1 You Must Own or License the Content
You may only submit content for audio generation that you have the legal right to publish and distribute. This means you must either:
- Be the original author or copyright holder of the article
- Have a valid license or written permission from the copyright holder to create audio versions
- Be an authorized representative of the publication that holds the rights
Important: Submitting content that you do not own or have the right to convert to audio is a violation of this policy and may constitute copyright infringement. ArticleVoice is not responsible for verifying your rights to submitted content.
1.2 Prohibited Content
You may not use ArticleVoice to generate audio for content that:
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Contains illegal material or promotes illegal activities
- Contains hate speech, incitement to violence, or content that promotes discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
- Contains sexually explicit material or child exploitation material
- Contains malware, phishing content, or other deceptive material
- Impersonates another person or entity
- Constitutes spam or unsolicited commercial content
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
2. Technical Usage Rules
2.1 API Usage
When using the ArticleVoice API, you must:
- Respect rate limits (currently 60 requests per minute for generation, 300 requests per minute for reads)
- Use your API key only for the website registered to your account
- Not share your API key with third parties
- Not use multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
- Not submit the same content repeatedly to consume your quota artificially or to stress our systems
2.2 No Reverse Engineering
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the ArticleVoice Service
- Attempt to extract the source code of our software, player, or API
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from our website, dashboard, or API beyond normal usage
- Attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, or security measures
2.3 No Interference
You may not:
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or data
- Use automated tools to interact with the Service in ways not explicitly supported by our API
- Overload our infrastructure with excessive requests beyond normal usage patterns
3. Player and Embed Rules
- Do not modify, tamper with, or alter the ArticleVoice audio player beyond the configuration options provided in the dashboard
- Do not remove or hide the "Powered by ArticleVoice" branding on plans where branding removal is not included
- Do not inject content into or overlay elements on the audio player
- Do not use the player to serve content other than ArticleVoice-generated audio
- Do not block or interfere with ad delivery on plans that include ArticleVoice network ads
4. Advertising Rules
4.1 Direct Ad Uploads
If your plan allows uploading audio ad creatives, those ads must:
- Comply with all applicable advertising laws and regulations
- Be truthful and not misleading
- Not promote illegal products or services
- Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content
- Be audio files in a supported format and within size limits
4.2 VAST Ad Tags
If your plan allows configuring a VAST ad tag, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring the ad provider and the ads served comply with applicable laws
- The content and quality of ads delivered through your VAST tag
- Any cookies or tracking implemented by your ad provider
5. Account Conduct
- Provide accurate information when registering and keep your account information up to date
- Do not create accounts with false or misleading information
- Do not create multiple accounts to exploit free trials or circumvent plan limits
- Do not transfer or sell your account to another party without our written consent
- Promptly report any security vulnerabilities you discover to areaburn@moosemediafsj.ca
6. Enforcement
6.1 Monitoring
We do not proactively monitor the content you submit for audio generation. However, we may review content or account activity if we receive a complaint, detect unusual usage patterns, or have reason to believe a violation has occurred.
6.2 Violations
If we determine that you have violated this policy, we may, at our discretion:
- Issue a warning and request that you correct the violation
- Temporarily suspend audio generation for your account
- Remove specific audio files that violate this policy
- Suspend your account pending investigation
- Permanently terminate your account
The severity of our response will depend on the nature of the violation, whether it is a first offense, and whether you take corrective action when notified.
6.3 Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, you may appeal by contacting us at areaburn@moosemediafsj.ca within 14 days. We will review your appeal and respond within 10 business days.
7. Reporting Violations
If you believe that another user is violating this policy, or if copyrighted content is being used without authorization, please contact us at areaburn@moosemediafsj.ca with:
- A description of the violation
- The URL or identifier of the content in question
- Your contact information
- For copyright claims: evidence of your ownership or authorization
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the dashboard and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
